Sensory play is an incredibly important component of toddler's growth and development. A Little Village is here to provide your toddler with opportunities to explore different textures, engage with their environment, improve their cognitive and fine motor skills. Each session is child led as our Tamariki learn best through play. Below is what you will expect see at each session.
Under 9 Months
A Little Village will provide a separate area with different textures and objects for your baby to explore with their hands and mouth while still witnessing the chaos of the more mobile children play around them. What a great way to catch up with other mums too!
Taste Safe Trays
Child-led play with taste-safe trays is a wonderful way to encourage your child's independence and creativity. Each tray will be set up with different textures and colors. Let your child explore and experiment at their own pace. This type of play promotes sensory development and helps your child build confidence.
Water Play
Who doesnt love a little waterplay... Waterplay has numerous benefits for the development of our little people. It helps to improve their hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills. Additionally, waterplay can also enhance their social skills as they learn to interact with others and work together. If your child loves to splash about make sure you have a towel with you and a change of clothing.
Sensory Rice
Colored rice is a fantastic way to engage your toddler's senses, they can safely get all up in the tray, staying clean and dry.
Active Play
Safe stimulating play equipment at every session for our tamariki to explore.
